GoHighLevel Pricing 2026: The Real Monthly Cost

GoHighLevel pricing in 2026 starts at $97 a month, but that number is only the subscription. The real monthly cost of GoHighLevel is the plan fee plus usage: phone numbers, text messages, emails, premium workflow actions, and AI features, all billed from a wallet. For a small business or agency, the gap between "$97" and the actual bill is where most budgeting mistakes happen. This guide breaks down every cost line using HighLevel's own published rates, shows example monthly budgets, and gives you my honest opinion on which costs matter and which you can safely ignore.

TL;DR

  • The subscription: Starter is $97/month (3 sub-accounts), Unlimited is $297/month (unlimited sub-accounts, rebilling at cost), and Agency Pro is $497/month (SaaS Mode, rebilling with markup). All plans include unlimited contacts and unlimited users.
  • The usage costs: phone numbers ($1.15/month local in the US/Canada), SMS ($0.00747 per segment in and out in the US/Canada, plus carrier fees), email ($0.675 per 1,000), and one-time and monthly A2P 10DLC fees if you text US numbers.
  • Workflow costs: most workflow steps are free. Premium actions and triggers, including Custom Webhook and the Workflow AI actions, cost $0.01 per execution, or less on a Workflow Pro tier ($10, $25 or $50 a month).
  • AI costs: you either pay per use at token cost, or pay $50 or $97 per month per location for the AI Employee Growth or Unlimited plans.
  • The October 2026 change worth knowing: HighLevel removed its 5% processing fee on WhatsApp messages from October 1, 2026, the same day Meta started charging for some messages that used to be free.
  • My opinion: for most single-location small businesses, usage costs stay small if the system is built cleanly. The big hidden cost is not SMS; it's a messy setup that nobody owns.

What is GoHighLevel, in one paragraph?

GoHighLevel (also called HighLevel or GHL) is an all-in-one sales and marketing platform. It combines a CRM, a shared inbox for SMS, email, social and chat messages, calendars and booking, funnels and websites, forms, pipelines, reputation management, and a visual workflow builder for automation. Agencies use it to run many client accounts from one place. Small businesses use it to replace a stack of separate tools: one for forms, one for email, one for booking, one for texting, one for reviews.

That "replace your stack" promise is the reason the pricing question matters so much. If GoHighLevel replaces five subscriptions, the $97 looks cheap. If it's added on top of your existing tools and only half set up, it's an expensive inbox.

Key terms you'll see in this guide

  • Agency account: the top-level account you pay for. Even a single business owner gets an agency account.
  • Sub-account (location): one business inside HighLevel, with its own contacts, calendars, workflows and phone numbers. An agency with ten clients usually has ten sub-accounts.
  • Wallet: the prepaid balance HighLevel charges for usage, such as SMS, calls, email and AI.
  • Rebilling: passing usage costs on to the client's sub-account, at cost or with a markup, depending on your plan.
  • Premium action: a workflow step that costs money per run, unlike standard steps that are included.
  • Execution: one run of a premium action or trigger.
  • A2P 10DLC: the US registration system for business texting from normal 10-digit phone numbers. If you text US contacts, you must register.
  • SaaS Mode: an Agency Pro feature that lets an agency sell HighLevel as its own branded software with automatic account creation.

How much does GoHighLevel cost per month in 2026?

GoHighLevel costs $97, $297 or $497 per month for the subscription, depending on plan. On top of that, you pay usage costs for phone, SMS, email, premium workflow actions and AI. A single small business with modest messaging typically adds a small usage bill; an agency with many clients needs a usage budget per sub-account.

Here are the published plan prices from the HighLevel pricing page:

Plan Monthly price Sub-accounts What it adds
Starter $97 3 All core features, unlimited contacts and users
Unlimited $297 Unlimited User/agent reporting, rebill phone and email at cost, basic API access
Agency Pro $497 Unlimited SaaS Mode, automated sub-account creation, rebill with markup, advanced API access
Enterprise Custom Custom Tailored for high-volume businesses and agencies

Every plan comes with a 14-day free trial, according to the same page.

My honest take on the three plans

  1. Starter is enough for most single businesses. Three sub-accounts is plenty if you're one company, even one with a test account and a second brand. Don't let anyone upsell you to Unlimited "for the features" if you only run one business.
  2. Unlimited is the agency plan, not the "power user" plan. The main reason to move up is unlimited sub-accounts and rebilling phone and email at cost. If you have four or more clients, the math usually favours it quickly.
  3. Agency Pro is for agencies that want to sell software, not just services. SaaS Mode and markup on usage are real revenue tools, but only if you have the sales process to use them. Paying $497 to "maybe do SaaS later" is a common waste.

What are the hidden costs of GoHighLevel?

The "hidden" costs of GoHighLevel are the usage charges outside the subscription: phone numbers, SMS and MMS, calls, email sending and verification, A2P registration, premium workflow actions, WhatsApp messages, and AI usage. HighLevel lists them openly, but they're spread across several help articles, so most people only discover them on their first wallet top-up.

HighLevel's own pricing page FAQ says it directly: the subscription covers platform features, and there are usage-based costs for telecom and AI, including phone numbers, SMS, email and premium AI usage.

Let's go through each one.

1. Phone numbers

From the LC Phone pricing guide (US/Canada rates):

Number type Monthly cost
Local number $1.15
Toll-free number $2.15

HighLevel says its phone system pricing matches Twilio's rates. Other countries have their own rate sheets on the same page.

Opinion: this is the smallest line on your bill. Don't over-optimise it. One local number per location is normal. Buying ten numbers "for tracking" without a plan to read the reports is the only way this gets silly.

2. SMS and MMS

US/Canada SMS is $0.00747 per segment, both outbound and inbound, per the same guide. MMS (picture messages) costs more: $0.0220 outbound and $0.0165 inbound on a local number in the US and Canada. Carriers then add their own pass-through fees per message, for example $0.0035 per outbound SMS on AT&T and $0.0050 on Verizon.

Two details people miss:

  • Inbound messages cost money too. Every reply from a customer is billed.
  • A "segment" is not a message. A long text, or one with emojis or special characters, can be split into several segments, and each one is billed.

Opinion: SMS cost is mostly a writing problem. Short, plain-character messages cost a fraction of long, emoji-heavy ones. Before blaming the platform, look at your templates.

3. A2P 10DLC registration (US texting)

If you text US phone numbers from a normal local number, you need A2P 10DLC registration. HighLevel's A2P fees article lists:

Registration tier One-time fee Limits
Sole Proprietor $22.50 1 number, 3,000 segments/day
Low Volume Standard $22.50 Multi-number, 6,000 segments/day
High Volume Standard $64.00 Multi-number, 600,000 segments/day

Then there's a monthly campaign fee, for example $10/month for standard campaign use cases, $2/month for a Sole Proprietor starter campaign, or $1.50/month for the low-volume mixed use case. An extra campaign under the same brand costs a $15 vetting fee.

Opinion: the fee is small. The real cost is time. A rejected registration can delay your texting for days. Write your opt-in language and privacy policy properly the first time.

4. Email

From the LC Email article:

  • Sending: $0.675 per 1,000 emails, on all plans.
  • Verification: $2.50 per 1,000 checks, if you turn it on.
  • Forwarding: billed at the same rate as sending.
  • Incoming and outgoing emails, including CC and BCC, are charged.

Opinion: for most small businesses, email is the cheapest channel in the whole system. Ten thousand emails cost under $7. Spend your attention on deliverability (domain setup, list hygiene), not on the price.

5. Premium workflow actions

This is the line that surprises agencies most. Most workflow steps are standard and included. But some actions and triggers are premium and cost money per run. According to HighLevel's changelog on workflow pricing categories:

  • Workflow Premium Features are $0.01 per execution. This group includes premium actions and triggers such as Custom Webhook and Copy Contact, plus the Workflow AI actions: Translate Content, Summarize Text, Decision Maker and Intent Detection.
  • Workflow External AI Models, like the GPT action, are billed at the AI provider's rate with no markup.

If you run a lot of premium executions, Workflow Pro tiers lower the price:

Tier Monthly price Included executions Overage rate
Free $0 100 lifetime $0.01 per execution
Starter $10 10,000 $0.008 per execution
Growth $25 30,000 $0.006 per execution
Scale $50 65,000 $0.004 per execution

Opinion: a cent sounds like nothing. But a webhook inside a workflow that fires on every inbound message, every page visit, or every contact update can run thousands of times a month. I've seen workflows that call a webhook "just in case" on every trigger. Design premium steps so they run only when they are needed.

6. AI features

HighLevel's AI products pricing article offers three options per location:

Option Price What you get (summary)
Pay-Per-Use Token cost only Pay only when AI features are used
AI Employee Growth $50/month per location Monthly limits, e.g. 1,000 Conversation AI agent responses and 100 Voice AI minutes
AI Employee Unlimited $97/month per location Unlimited Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI, subject to fair use

Phone system charges still apply to calls even when Voice AI is covered by the Unlimited plan, according to HighLevel's billing guide. Rebilling AI Employee usage requires the $497 plan.

Opinion: don't buy an AI plan before you have a working conversation flow without AI. If your booking process, follow-ups and pipeline stages are broken, an AI chatbot answers faster and still drops the lead. Fix the system first, then decide whether AI is worth $50 to $97 a month per location.

7. WhatsApp messages

If you use WhatsApp inside HighLevel, you pay Meta's per-message rates. HighLevel's October 1 changelog says it removed its 5% processing fee on every WhatsApp message from October 1, 2026, so you now pay Meta's published rate. On the same date, Meta made some previously free messages billable, with the first 1,000 service messages per phone number per month still free.

Opinion: this is one line on the bill, not the centre of your system. Treat it like SMS: know your volume, watch the wallet, and route first contact through the cheapest entry point your market supports.

What does a real GoHighLevel monthly budget look like?

A real GoHighLevel monthly budget is the plan fee plus a usage estimate built from your own volumes. The examples below are worked examples, not client data: they apply HighLevel's published US/Canada rates to made-up but realistic volumes so you can see how the lines add up. Plug in your own numbers.

Example A: a single local service business on Starter

Assumptions (example only): one location, one local number, 1,500 SMS segments sent and 1,000 received per month, 4,000 emails, 2,000 premium executions, AI on pay-per-use and barely used.

Line Calculation Approx. monthly cost
Starter plan Fixed $97.00
Local number 1 × $1.15 $1.15
SMS (before carrier fees) 2,500 × $0.00747 $18.68
Carrier fees (rough) 2,500 × about $0.004–$0.010 about $10–$25
A2P campaign Standard campaign $10.00
Email 4 × $0.675 $2.70
Premium executions Free tier used up, so 2,000 × $0.01 $20.00
Total (example) about $160–$175

What this shows: the plan is more than half the bill. If premium executions are designed well, the usage side stays under control. If a webhook fires on every message, the execution line alone could pass the plan fee.

Example B: a small agency with eight clients on Unlimited

Assumptions (example only): eight sub-accounts, each similar to Example A, usage rebilled to clients at cost.

  • Your fixed cost is the $297 plan.
  • Each client's usage (roughly $60–$80 in Example A, without the plan) is charged to their own sub-account wallet through rebilling.
  • Your margin comes from your setup and monthly service fees, not from the software.

Opinion: on Unlimited, the agency's software cost per client drops fast as you add clients. The risk is not software cost. It's support time: eight clients with eight messy setups will eat your margin faster than any SMS bill.

Example C: an agency on Agency Pro using SaaS Mode

On $497, the agency can rebill usage with a markup and sell branded subscriptions. This changes the business model from "service agency" to "software reseller plus service". It only pays off when you have a repeatable offer, onboarding that runs without you, and enough clients to cover the extra $200 a month over Unlimited.

Is GoHighLevel worth it for a small business?

GoHighLevel is worth it for a small business when it actually replaces separate tools and when someone sets it up properly: pipelines, booking, follow-ups, reviews and reporting working together. It's not worth it when it's bought for one feature, left half-configured, and run alongside the old tools. The tool rarely fails; the setup does.

Here's my opinion list, based on what I look for when I review an account.

Seven signs GoHighLevel is a good fit

  1. You lose leads between "form filled" and "first reply". A shared inbox and instant follow-up workflows fix this directly.
  2. You pay for three or more tools that overlap. Booking, email marketing, forms, texting, review requests and simple websites can live in one place.
  3. Your pipeline lives in someone's head. Visual pipeline stages make it obvious who is waiting on what.
  4. You need reminders and no-show follow-ups. Calendar-triggered workflows are one of HighLevel's strongest features.
  5. You run an agency with repeatable client setups. Snapshots (account templates) let you clone a working build.
  6. You want reviews without chasing people by hand. Review requests tied to "job done" or "appointment completed" are easy to automate.
  7. You want one login for the team. Unlimited users on every plan means no per-seat surprises.

Five signs it's the wrong tool right now

  1. You already live inside HubSpot or another CRM and it works. Moving for "more features" usually costs more than it saves.
  2. You need deep, custom integrations with heavy data. HighLevel can connect through webhooks and its API, but a tool like n8n or Zapier in the middle is often cleaner.
  3. No one will own the account. A CRM without an owner becomes a graveyard of half-built workflows.
  4. Your sales process isn't defined yet. Automating a process you can't describe just makes the mess faster.
  5. You only need one feature. If all you want is a booking page, a cheaper single tool is fine.

How do I keep GoHighLevel costs under control?

Keep GoHighLevel costs under control by doing four things: set wallet alerts and auto-recharge limits, make premium workflow steps conditional so they only run when needed, keep SMS templates short and plain, and review usage per sub-account every month. Most cost spikes come from one bad workflow, not from normal use.

Here's the step-by-step routine I recommend.

Step 1: Turn on wallet visibility

HighLevel bills usage from wallets. Know where your transactions live (HighLevel's help articles point to the Billing and Wallets & Transactions areas) and check them weekly in the first month. HighLevel's own October changelog recommends setting a wallet balance alert so a rate change never interrupts sending.

Step 2: List every premium step

Open each active workflow and note every premium trigger or action: Custom Webhook, Copy Contact, Workflow AI actions, GPT actions, and Marketplace app actions. For each one, write down roughly how often it fires.

Step 3: Add conditions before premium steps

Put an If/Else or filter before any premium action. Examples:

  • Only call the webhook when the contact has an email or a phone number.
  • Only run Intent Detection on the first inbound message, not every reply.
  • Only summarise a conversation when the deal moves to a new stage.

Step 4: Pick the right Workflow Pro tier, or none

If you run under 100 premium executions a month in total, the free allowance is used up once and then you pay a cent each; that's small. Above a few thousand per month, compare the $10, $25 and $50 tiers against your real volume.

Step 5: Rewrite your SMS templates

Check every SMS template for length and special characters. Aim for one segment. Move long information to a link or an email.

Step 6: Decide AI by location, not account-wide

AI pricing is per location. Turn on an AI Employee plan only where volume justifies it. Keep the others on pay-per-use until the numbers say otherwise.

Step 7: Clean up quarterly

Turn off workflows nobody uses, remove test numbers, and archive old campaigns. Unused numbers and forgotten workflows are the quiet costs.

GoHighLevel vs Zapier, HubSpot and n8n: which costs less?

GoHighLevel usually costs less than buying a CRM, booking tool, email platform and texting tool separately, because the subscription bundles them. Zapier and n8n don't replace HighLevel; they connect it to other apps. HubSpot is a stronger fit for larger sales teams, but its paid tiers are often priced per seat, while HighLevel includes unlimited users.

My opinion, in plain terms:

  • GoHighLevel is the best value when you want one place for leads, booking, messaging and follow-up, and you're a small business or an agency serving small businesses.
  • HubSpot is the better choice when you have a growing sales team, complex reporting needs, and the budget for seat-based pricing. Check HubSpot's current pricing page for your tier.
  • Zapier is the glue. It's great when HighLevel has to talk to an app it doesn't connect to natively. Watch task usage, because every successful action counts. (I wrote a full Zapier audit checklist for that.)
  • n8n is the glue for teams that want more control, self-hosting, or heavy logic. It needs a bit more technical care to run reliably.

The cheapest stack is the one with the fewest moving parts that still does the job. Often that's HighLevel alone, plus one connector for the one app it can't reach.

What should an agency charge clients for GoHighLevel?

An agency should charge clients for the outcome and the ongoing care, not just the software. A common structure is a one-time setup fee, a monthly management fee that covers the subscription share and support, and usage rebilled to the client's wallet. The right numbers depend on your market and the scope of work, so price from your own costs and time.

A simple way to build it:

  1. Software share: your plan fee divided by the number of active clients.
  2. Usage: rebilled at cost (Unlimited) or with a markup (Agency Pro).
  3. Your time: monthly hours for monitoring, fixes, changes and reports.
  4. Risk buffer: time for things that break, such as expired integrations, carrier issues, or form changes.

If you want a reference point, my own fixed-price packages and monthly care plans are listed on yousufmesalm.com, and you can see a GoHighLevel demo of the kind of setup I build.

Common GoHighLevel pricing mistakes (my opinion list)

  1. Buying Agency Pro before you have a SaaS offer. Start lower and upgrade when the plan pays for itself.
  2. Ignoring inbound SMS costs. Replies are billed too.
  3. Webhooks on every trigger. One premium step in a high-volume workflow can outgrow your plan fee.
  4. Turning on an AI plan for every location at once. Turn it on where volume and the conversation flow justify it.
  5. Skipping A2P registration details. Rejections cost time, and time costs leads.
  6. No wallet alerts. A paused wallet means paused messages.
  7. No owner. Every account needs one person responsible for workflows, numbers and billing.
  8. Copying a snapshot without reviewing it. Templates carry other people's assumptions, including premium steps you didn't know were there.

FAQ

How much is GoHighLevel per month?

GoHighLevel's published subscription prices are $97/month for Starter, $297/month for Unlimited and $497/month for Agency Pro, with a custom Enterprise plan. Usage for phone, SMS, email, premium workflow actions and AI is billed separately from a wallet.

Does GoHighLevel charge per user?

No. HighLevel's pricing page lists unlimited contacts and unlimited users on all plans. Your costs grow with sub-accounts (on Starter) and with usage, not with team size.

Is SMS included in GoHighLevel?

No. SMS is billed per segment through the wallet. US/Canada SMS is $0.00747 per segment for both outbound and inbound, plus carrier fees, according to HighLevel's LC Phone pricing guide.

What are premium actions in GoHighLevel workflows?

Premium actions and triggers are workflow steps that cost money per run, such as Custom Webhook, Copy Contact and Workflow AI actions like Summarize Text and Intent Detection. They cost $0.01 per execution, or less on a Workflow Pro tier.

How much does GoHighLevel AI cost?

You can pay per use at token cost, or pay $50/month (AI Employee Growth) or $97/month (AI Employee Unlimited) per enabled location. Phone charges for calls still apply on top of Voice AI.

Which GoHighLevel plan should a single business choose?

Starter at $97/month is usually enough for one business, since it includes three sub-accounts and all core features. Move up only when you need more sub-accounts, rebilling, or SaaS Mode.

Can I rebill GoHighLevel costs to my clients?

Yes. The $297 Unlimited plan lets agencies rebill phone and email usage at cost. The $497 Agency Pro plan allows rebilling with a markup. Rebilling AI Employee usage requires the $497 plan.

Did GoHighLevel change WhatsApp pricing in 2026?

Yes. From October 1, 2026, HighLevel removed its 5% processing fee on WhatsApp messages, so you pay Meta's published rate. Meta also made some previously free message types billable on that date.

Is GoHighLevel cheaper than HubSpot?

For small teams, GoHighLevel is often cheaper because it bundles many tools and includes unlimited users. HubSpot can be the better fit for larger sales teams with complex reporting needs. Compare both against your actual team size and feature list.
